How to start a babysitting business!
Hello everyone, today I will be sharing some tips and ideas to help you start your own babysitting business!
Step 1
Step 1
Get permision from your parents. This is most important, before you begin other steps! They may want to talk to you about the responsibilities and consequences first, or they may have concerns about your age and preparedness to care for someone else.
Step 2 Gather references and recommendations. Start out by encouraging your parents, friends, relatives and acquaintances to recommend you to anyone they know who needs a babysitter.
Step 3 Take a babysitting course. Red Cross is recommended, but really any well known course will do. Choose a course that is helpful and informative, and many parents will feel better about leaving their kids with you.
Step 4 Choose a name for your business. You can also create some business cards (preferably typed up - that makes it look more professional!) to hand out to people.
Step 5 Choose the age range that you want to baby sit. If you think taking care of a younger child is too difficult, don't take that job. If you're too close in age to your clients, don't take that job either. It's important that you are comfortable and happy with the age range you have chosen; remember that it is never too late to change your mind.
Step 6 Decide what you will charge for babysitting Charge the right amount of money, not too much or too little. Depending on your area and expertise, as well as the age of the child, your price should range between 5 and 20 dollars.
Step 7 Make sure you know how to gain control of a situation. Make sure ahead of time that one of your parents is going to be home, in case of an emergency. You need to know how to handle situations like choking, break ins, fires, natural disasters, or hazards in the clients home. It is unsafe to babysit without knowing the proper way to handle an emergency.
Step 8 Make sure to advertise Post fliers or make business cards. Use bright colors to get the parents' attention.
- Be sure to include ages you will babysit, your phone number, and days or hours you would be available. Do not give out your address or full name yet! Some people may be looking for you for the wrong reasons!
- Once you have printed all of those off, it's time to start advertising. Paste your fliers in the neighbourhood, or at your school
There you go. Some easy ways to kickstart you business
