How much to charge!

Hey, guys, this post will be about how much to charge when babysitting. So here are some pointers to help make it easier for you. The going rate for babysitting depends on a few factors but as a general rule $3 to $5 per hour is a good starting point. The things you should consider when setting a rate include; ·          The number of kids you’ll be caring for, more kids should mean a higher hourly fee. ·          The time of day you’ll be caring for the kids, if it’s a daytime thing your rate should be a bit higher as you’ll likely be expected to entertain the children, at night it’s likely the kids will spend the bulk of their time in bed so your hourly fee should go down. If you’re needed overnight you may even want to consider offering a flat rate. ·          The ages of the children, babies, and toddlers require much more work than older children and nee...

Sorry!

Hey guys, I am sorry for not posting for a while, I have been really busy with school. I am going to do a post every day for the next week. I have so many ideas to share with you guys. Some posts are about: soothing a crying baby, babysitting bag ideas, how much to charge, cute food ideas and more. So today’s post will be about Babysitting bags/Magic Bags. I love the idea of a Magic bag, because if the kids are being naughty, you can say, “If you are good, you can choose one thing from my bag.” Or the other way around. If they are being nice to one another or helping you, tell them that they can pick a book, DVDs or a small treat, etc.… In my next post, I will be posting heaps of other ideas to include 1.        DVDs -- if you're babysitting at night, the kids are sometimes cranky from a long day and too tired to really do any activities. If you bring your own DVDs, they will have a much better time because they haven't seen the movie a million time...

How to start a babysitting business!

Hello everyone, today I will be sharing some tips and ideas to help you start your own babysitting business! Step 1 Get permision from your parents.  This is most important, before you begin other steps! They may want to talk to you about the responsibilities and consequences first, or they may have concerns about your age and preparedness to care for someone else. Step 2  Gather references and recommendations.  Start out by encouraging your parents, friends, relatives and acquaintances to recommend you to anyone they know who needs a babysitter. Step 3  Take a babysitting course.  Red Cross is recommended, but really any well known course will do. Choose a course that is helpful and informative, and many parents will feel better about leaving their kids with you. Step 4  Choose a name for your business.  You can also create some business cards (preferably typed up - that makes it look more professional!) to hand out to people. Step...
